San Francisco - 14 August

These photos are from a one day visit to San Francisco with Jan Miller, Margaret Hamilton and Ute Doles. A wonderful city and there was a lot to see - we did our best. View of San Francisco as we approached from the south. Alcatraz - tours to Alcatraz were booked out so we had to settle for a view from the wharf.

Cooking the clam chowder at the Wharf

Eating the clam chowder - this is served in a hollowed out round loaf of bread.

Waiting for us to finish our lunch - the gulls were fussy - they only wanted the fish not the bread.

Flower display at the Golden Gate bridge park

Lombard St - very steep street famous for its harpin bends.
