London 19 July - 8 August

I stayed in Cheam, London for a couple of weeks (minus 6 days in Wales -another posting) at Yvonne and John Eggleton's house with their daughter Victoria and her fiance Nick. Yvonne and John were in Australia. Mainly working during this time but an afternoon sightseeing in London, a walk along the Thames and a trip to Bletchley Park (see other postings).

Victoria and Nick
Weeping birch in Nonsuch park - a huge park near Cheam village.

A fox in Yvonne's garden.

The London Eye on the Thames - a very long queue so I didn't bother.

Houses of Parliament and Big Ben

Spotty trees on the Thames river bank near Waterloo.

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre - view from the Millennium bridge.

On the Millennium bridge over the Thames - St Pauls cathedral in the background.

View of the 'Gerkin' from one of the bridges on the Thames.

One of the four friezes on the base of Nelson's column in Trafalgar Square - this one depicts Nelson's death at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

  1. Wait....wasn't the globe theatre burned down during its last show? That would have to be just a replica
