Paris 5-9 July

On Sunday 5 July I flew to Paris from Seville to attend the Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education conference (ITiCSE 2009) from 6-8 July. The conference was held at the Pierre and Marie Curie University on the edge of the Latin Quarter. Jan Miller and I stayed in a hotel 5 minutes walk away with a group of others from the conference. Not much time for sightseeing - but we managed a to do a bit.

View from the hotel room balcony.

Breakfast at the hotel with Tony, Alison, Simon, Anna and Ray.

Dinner with Dennis, Otto, Jan and Logan - pre-conference.

View of the Eiffel Tower from the steps of the Pantheon. At 11pm the tower 'sparkled' for 5 minutes.

Building an intelligent robot in a session titled "Computer science unplugged".

Mike, Ray and Otto relaxing after the first day of the conference.

Simon likes to stay in touch.

At the conference dinner ...

the dinner was a boat trip on the Seine - great views of Paris ...

... and great food - the entree.

... and dessert.

A garden growing on the wall of a building opposite the Seine - Ray Lister checking this out.

  1. Judy, the M's & B's left Paris via Gare De Lyon on Saturday July 4th, we did some similar siteseeing things but missed you by a whisker. You have a very comprehensive set of photos, including great meals, your photos put ours to shame. You look really great and if you are having fun with your work colleagues. Pam E La
