Nantes, France - 9-13 July

After the ITiCSE conference in Paris Jan Miller and I travelled by train to Nantes (south west of Paris) for a short holiday with our friend and former colleague Annya Réquilé and her family. Annya lives in Les Sorinières next to Nantes and works at the Ecole des Mines de Nantes. Annya entertained us well with lots of wonderful food and sightseeing. The highlights were the salt marshes at Guérande and Mont Saint-Michel ... and all the food.

At Gare de Lyon, Paris, on the way to Nantes. Jan's suitcase is the larger one on the right. Mine is the heavier one on the left.

Main course - a galette

Dessert - a crepe

On the way home we visited the walled town of Saint Malo on the coast of Brittany. Saint Malo dates back to the middle ages.

  1. I'm sighing quietly as I look at your photos... Europe's so - well, European, isn't it! Hopefully we will be there soon. Here it's Sunday morning, sunny and windy - not too bad except for the cricket score. Oh, and Collingwood supporters seem to be spending the day in bed...

  2. ... and Hawthorn supporters up out and early!

Looks like the camera is working, then?
